Moving 100 pounds of cycler and power supply has never been easier. Doesn't really feel like work. More like getting paid to play with Meccano. |

Timber
Crazy winds removed a limb - the third for this Bradford pear. The town efficiently dismembered and chipped the remaining trunk and limbs to avoid a fourth such loss. On the plus side, there are more areas of full sun in which to expand the veggie garden. |

Patio extended
With the air conditioning unit relocated from the back of the house, we no longer require a garden-filled-with-bushes-to-hide-an-air-conditioner. So we had the patio expanded. Unfortunately, we didn't have the foresight to take any before pictures.

"Will you be our next success story?"
It seems that our image is being used to attract new recruits. Also, it seems that we now qualify as a "success story".

Recycled paper titles
A quick analysis of my publications list suggests that I favour certain manuscript titles. I also enjoy verbs ending in -ing with a series manuscripts titled "Watching...", "Chasing..." and "Trapping...".

March Madness
Another week, another conference.
This time at the Disney resorts in Orlando, Fl. Mickey and friends were not in attendance although they were nearby (see EPCOT sphere). |

A reminder to myself. A warning to others
NEVER use a shuttle service. No exceptions.
The ORD-LAX flight was shorter than the LAX-GRC conference hotel shuttle due to the high tortuosity* of the route!

A is for Alta (and Avalanches)
This was going to be the fiscally conservative ski trip paid by points, miles and rewards. Plans changed when we were trapped at the ski resort after an avalanche closed the road.
Now we get to see how the other half skis, staying on mountain at the luxurious Alta Lodge (aka the most expensive 4 person, shared bathroom dorm ever).
In other news, the snow base has increased by 50% since we got here.
